UNYPAD Sultan Kudarat Provincial Chapter continues organizing youths

Cotabato City/March 16, 2020 – The United Youth for Peace and Development (UNYPAD) Sultan Kudarat Provincial Chapter conducted an orientation session for the youth in Brgy. Mayo, Columbio, Sultan Kudarat on March 15, 2020.

This activity which was attended by about 50 youth is one of the organization’s programs and services, i.e. Organizing and Solidarity.

The orientation was started with the reading of Holy Qur’an.  It was followed by a welcome  and opening remarks delivered by Ustadz Abdulkarim Jafar.

The participants and other individuals present introduced themselves individually as part of the program.  

The Provincial Chairman of UNYPAD-SK, Mr. Ibrahim S. Nor, also delivered a message.  He discussed the significant roles of the youth on peace and development.

Sister Matabai B. Mapandi, Chairwoman of the Women Affairs Committee, also delivered a message.  She informed the woman participants that they can also play a big and important role on peace and development as women. 

 “I encourage the Bangsamoro women to participate and cooperate in peace and development initiatives and programs,” Matabai said.  

“Every woman should be informed and must understand what roles they can take,” according to Ms. Mapandi.

The Provincial Secretary of UNYPAD-SK, Mr. Nor Sahid D. Benito, also shared words of wisdom.  He told the youth participants that the Bangsamoro youth should always be  ready in taking any role in peace and development initiatives.  He reminded the youth about the famous saying, “the youth is the hope of the nation.”

The orientation proper was given by the Vice Chairman for External Affairs of UNYPAD-SK Provincial Chapter, Mr. Morsid U. Guiapal.  He discussed the history, vision, mission, programs and services among others of the organization.  

After the orientation proper, the participants were also given time to ask questions.  

Finally, the participants became interested and signify intention to be a member of  the organization.  They were grateful to UNYPAD for coming and reaching out the youth in their community.  This way, they will be able to take part in the peace and development initiatives and programs through joining the organization.

This will be the newest municipal chapter being organized by the UNYPAD-SK Chapter under the leadership of its Provincial Chairman, Mr. Ibrahim S. Nor.
