UNYPAD Damalasak Chapter spearheads training-workshop on Islamic leadership and management

PAGALUNGAN, MAGUINDANAO (December 19, 2020) — United Youth for Peace and Development (UNYPAD) Damalasak Chapter in partnership with the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) of Damalasak spearheaded the Training-Workshop on Islamic Leadership and Management on December 12-13, 2020 at Madrasah Damalasak Litarbiyyati  Islamiyyati, Barangay Damalasak, this town.
 
The program started with the recitation of a verse from the Holy Qur’an by Zahabudin Manawil followed by the welcome address given by Esmael Lumambas.
 
Muhamad Abas, UNYPAD Pagalungan Chapter Chairman, explained the rationale of the activity citing, “Because of your commitment in our organization, you did your job without expecting any amount from us and even used your own asset to realized this activity.”
 
He added said the Almighty Allah will reward them on their efforts to participate in the activity.
 
Entim Payag, Barangay Kagawad of Damalasak, expressed his support and commitment for upcoming activities of the organization.
 
‘’Being a leader is not easy. If you are leader in your community, accept all the circumstances that will happen,” he said.
 
“You are very young, we need to develop and capacitate you, our youth, to become a productive and efficient leaders in our homeland,’’ Payag added.
 
Yusoph S. Lumambas UNYPAD Secretary General, discussed leadership accordance with Islamic perspective. 
 
“In our society today, we need to educate and develop the skill of our youth to become productive citizen in our homeland because nowadays, we are facing some challenges most especially in Bangsamoro struggle and our jihad as a whole,” he underscored.
 
Hamsa G. Landayan, UNYPAD Cluster II Provincial Chairman, elaborated three types of leader that still used by those who lead nowadays. 
 
He stressed that if one masters the three types of leaders in accordance with Islamic way, he would fear to do any act that is prohibited by almighty Allah. 
 
Abdulnasser Andik, member of Committee on Research and Information UNYPAD NCC-II, delivered and elaborated the importance of management in Islamic perspective.  
 
He pointed out that, “After you learned this module we will expect that you can apply it to your community and our organization to develop other youth to become a competitive leaders in our society.”
 
Abdulrahman Buday, Chairman of Political Committee of Damalasak-I, expressed his full support to the activity.
 
‘’If you want to become a fruitful and efficient young leaders in Bangsamoro society, don’t stop to learn and observe the process of education be it secular or Madaris education,” Buddy said.
 
“We are too old, thus, we need young leaders to continue our struggle,” he emphasized. 
 
Samerson T. Molao, Chairman of UNYPAD Damalasak Chapter, expressed his gratitude to the resource persons and facilitators for educating their youth in terms of leadership and management in Islam. 
 
‘’I hope that this is not the last workshop that we did, In shaa Allah we will conduct another workshop for the improvement of our skills and the unity in our organization,” he said.
 
Among the attendees were the provincial officers of UNYPAD NCC-II, Women Affairs Committee from municipal chapter and barangay chapters, Political Committee Damalasak and the Damalasak BLGU.
