UNYPAD Cotabato City Chapter conducts orientation for new members

COTABATO CITY (January 3, 2021) – United Youth for Peace and Development, Inc. (UNYPAD) – Cotabato City Chapter conducted four batches of orientations for knocks down 4 batches of orientations held on December 5, 12, 19 and 25, 2020 held at UNYPAD Session Hall, Purok Pinen, Rosary Heights 6, this town.

Around 80 youth, students and young professionals from different barangays of Cotabato City attended the said activity.

It was aimed to equip the target young individuals with knowledge, raise awareness of their important roles and encourage their participation in community services.

The activity generally aims to produce competent, effective and efficient young leaders that would meaningfully render their voluntary services to help uplift the condition of the Bangsamoro people.

Yusop Z. Macabuat, UNYPAD Cotabato City Chairman, spearheaded the activity. He underscored, “Once a UNYPAD, forever a UNYPAD. This is a lifetime commitment. A lifetime Jihad, not with swords and guns, but with our intellect, skills and talent.”

UNYPAD National – Vice President for Internal Affairs Tu A. Alfonso related how the organization started and was sustained.

He emphasized some key points of the vision, mission goals and objectives of UNYPAD and enumerated its programs and services as well as its structures.

Alfonso further related the vital role the organization played in producing Bangsamoro leaders and effecting changes in the communities nowadays.

He exclaimed “Our principle is in the accordance of the teachings of Islam, the Qur-an and Hadith. And our arch resting on top of this solid foundation is the spirit of volunteerism”

The National Chairperson of UNYPAD Women Affair Committee (WAC), Baisanie J. Macabuat, was also present in support in the activity accompanied together with the active WAC National Executive Officers namely VCIA Saada S. Sampayan, Vice Chairperson on Internal Affairs, Farida P. Dalandan, Committee on Research and Information Development and Yusoph S. Lumambas, UNYPAD Secretary General.

Macabuat ended her address by saying, “I always connote these words of our president, Dr. Rahib Kudto that — with women as partners, we can build a whole nation.”

UNYPAD Cotabato City Chapter WAC Chairperson, Arhama D. Samadalan was also present.

Dr. Rahib Kudto , UNYPAD National President and Director General of Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education joined in the last batch of the orientation.

Inspiring the new members, Dr. Kudto stated, “You are all welcome in UNYPAD, whether you’re old or young, regardless of your status in society, even if you are a ‘no- read, no-write person,’ no worries. UNYPAD welcomes you with open arms.”

“Imagine building a house with the same measurements. Its width, length and thickness. I can’t imagine how it looks like. I doubt if you can build a desirable home. That’s why our organization accepts individual differences. Because we want to build a place that serves as a living quarters with Islam as foundation. And you in unison.” he added.

Overall, the activity was successfully delivered and the officers began the discussion for the plans for upcoming activities in 2021.
