UNYPAD Kabacan Chapter conducts seminar-workshop on Islamic Leadership and Management

KABACAN, COTABATO (January 19, 2021) — The United Youth for Peace and Development Inc. (UNYPAD) Kabacan Chapter conducted a two-day seminar-workshop on Islamic Leadership and Management for its municipal officers on December 19-20, 2020 at Orro Resto and Restaurant Poblacion, this town.
The activity was initiated by the chapter’s Committee on Da’wah and Education and was supervised by Buhare S. Kutea – Chairman, UNYPAD Kabacan.
UNYPAD North Cotabato Cluster 3 facilitated the seminar-workshop headed by Norsalin Patakan in coordination with the local government unit of Kabacan.
The main speaker, Mr. Yusoph S. Lumambas, the Secretary General of UNYPAD National, discussed Islamic Leadership on the first day and Management on the second day. Aside from lecture, he also facilitated workshop.
He said leadership and management as tools to become an effective and efficient leader in the future.
“If you put these two subject to yourselves and do it, you will be able to perform and practice good character, attitude and values while you do strict implementation of the rules and policy and other management functions,” Lumambas said.
“Difficult but surely make excellent results to your organization but in reality you did not please all the followers,” he added.
“These two subject are inseparable but not all can do quality leadership while performing good management and vice versa,” he elucidated
The participants assured that they will continue to do what they had learned from the seminar and pledged to invite other youth to join UNYPAD.
Part of the workshop the participants did was the steps they will do in the succeeding three months.
Representing LGU Kabacan, Mr. David Don Saure, from Municipal Development and Planning Office, delivered the message of Mayor Herlo P. Guzman to the youth.
He emphasized the importance of capacitating the youth for building a nation and cited the famous quote of Jose Rizal “Ang Kabataan ang Pag-asa ng bayan (The youth is the hope of the fatherland).”
Mr. Omar Mohammad, the first resource speaker, gave inputs all about UNYPAD and the duties and functions of all officers.
He emphasized that knowing the duties and functions of all position in UNYPAD will guide them what to do without overlapping of work.
In the afternoon of the first day, an induction and oath-taking of newly designated officers of Kabacan Chapter was conducted.
Ms. Elaysa Enalang, UNYPAD NCC3 Chairperson, delivered her message of support where she pointed out that the UNYPAD became her mentor ever since.
She also informed the group with the possibility of establishing UNYPAD North Cotabato Cluster 4.
Enalang assured that if this will happen the group may be separated but not its objectives.
She further assured the colleagues that her door is always open whenever her help is needed.
Moreover, Mr. Akmad Maguid, Vice Chairman for Internal Affairs, gave also his message of support to the newly installed officers.
He also asked forgiveness from his colleagues have he done mistakes intentionally or unintentionally.
Maguid reminded the officers that misunderstanding is inevitable in an organization. “But apologizing should always be performed to deescalate it,” he hinted.
Also graced in the activity were the National President of UNYPAD, Dr. Rahib L. Kudto, UNYPAD Development Management Center Director Mr. Morsidin Husain and National Women’s Affair Committee Chairwoman Ms. Baisanie J. Macabuat.
