UNYPAD Takepan, Kalakacan Chapters initiate Islamic symposium and oath-taking ceremony

PIKIT, COTABATO PROVINCE (March 5, 2021) —The United Youth for Peace and Development (UNYPAD) Takepan and Kalakacan chapters conducted an Islamic symposium and oath taking ceremony held on 27th day of February, 2021, at Kalakacan Pikit North Cotabato with more than 100 attendees from different sitios and nearby barangays.
The Islamic symposium was aimed to strengthen the faithfulness of the community specially the youth.
“Islam as a Way of Life: Empowering Youth to Become Effective for Socio-Economic and Political transformation” was the theme of the event.
In the first part of the program, Zuharto Mamangkog, Secretary of Committee on Da’wah and Education of UNYPAD National, talked about aqeedah (faith) and gave some spiritual advices in line with the youth.
“Uman isa salkitanu nya tanu kahanda na pdsageb sa ilmo (The goal of each one of us here is to gain knowledge),” Mamangkog said.
“Langon o pangand’nen sa dunya na minebpon sa manguda, mana tamlang a ebpon sa dabong tembu mamikal tanu (All of creatures in this world started from being young, just like the bamboo which came from shoot, thus we must strive),” he added.
Member of Committee on Da’wah and Education of UNYPAD National, Nasrudin Musa, the second resource person, talked about deep aqeedah (faith).
He discussed the three steps of good deeds the Bangsamoro people may do to become real Muslims.
“Endaw e kapakikineg sa bityala no agama Islam na ento dn so kanggalbek nengka lon (When you listen to the words about Islam, you have to implement it),” he stressed.
“Mapagungaya nengka sa tagapda nengka na mapagungaya nengka sa ginawa nengka , mana so kedot kadn mun e ginawa nengka ka masakit salka na masakit bun sa ped (Your concerns in others would be your concern in yourself. Try to pinch yourself, if it hurts you, then it also hurts others),” he said.
The speaker added, “The true Muslims should have strong faith and have the body with actions.”
Dr. Rahib L. Kudto, UNYPAD National President, discussed Moral Governance where he emphasized its components namely faith , rule of law and services.
Kudto also emphasized that “UNYPAD na di pdtadtab sa kapagungaya kanu manguda sa mabaloy a mataw, endo mabagel e gilek sa Allah (UNYPAD is relentless in capacitating the youth to become proficient and have a strong fear of Allah).”
The second part of the program was the proper oath taking ceremony and orientation of officers where the chairman of Pikit Chapter, Mustapha Sanduyogan led the pledge of loyalty of the officers of Takepan and Kalakacan chapters.
Hamsa G. Landayan, Chairman of UNYPAD North Cotabato Cluster II (NCC II), introduced the vision, mission, goals and objectives of UNYPAD as well as its programs and services.
“We are enlightening the youth to teach good deeds and forbid what is wrong,” Landayan stressed.
Member of Committee on Research and Information of NCCII, Rahim Lasak, elaborated the tasks and functions of officers from chairman down to the secretary and members of the committees.
Women Affairs Committee (WAC) representatives headed by the Vice Chairperson for Internal Affairs, Anisa Matula, also showed their moral support for the said activity.
Taya P. Adam, Chairman of Pagalungan Chapter, emphasized that “No man succeeds without a woman behind him because we as women are partners of men in doing good steps of our organization.”
Political Committee, Baranggay officials, Moro Islamic Liberation Front and other sectors were also present in the activity to show their support for the youth of their community.
