UNYPAD NCCII joins Unity Caravan in support for the final call for BTA Extension

COTABATO PROVINCE (June 24, 2021) — The United Youth for Peace and Development (UNYPAD) North Cotabato Cluster II (NCCII) executive officers and members joined the Unity Caravan yesterday in support for the final call to President Rodrigo R. Duterte to certify the bill as urgent the extension of Bangsamoro transition period from 2022 to 2025.
UNYPAD NCC II Secretary Zulkarnain Kudto recorded more than 70 vehicles comprised of motorcycles and other types of 4-wheel vehicle used in the event provided by the different chapters of four municipalities which are the Aleosan, Pikit, Pagalungan and Datu Montawal.
UNYPAD NCC II Provincial Chairman Hamsa Landayan led his colleagues in the noble undertaking joining the caravan with the support of municipal chairmen and the Women Affairs Committee (WAC).
The chapters provided tarpaulins, stickers and flaglets for their vehicles.
UNYPAD NCC II leadership believes that if given a chance to extend the transition period, the Bangsamoro Government will do better to serve not only the Bangsamoro constituents but all the peoples in the autonomous region and it will improve the localities of the Bangsamoro homeland.
The caravan participants were overwhelmed by the support of the ordinary people along the way to Buluan, Maguindanao, with gladness shown in their faces manifesting their support to the goal of the caravan.
The caravan secretariat reported that the participants belonged from different organizations, Mahads, schools, Local Government Unit (LGU), Non-Government Organizations (NGO) and other groups.
Joining the event were hundreds of members of UNYPAD who remained hopeful that the wish for extended period of the Bangsamoro transition be granted by the national legislature and the hope for real peace in Mindanao will be realized.
“I joined this Unity Caravan, a final call for BTA extension, to show how supportive I am for the Bangsamoro government to succeed. This extension is for everyone especially in the next generation of Bangsamoro homeland,” said Taya P. Adam, Chairwoman of Kalbugan, Pagalungan chapter which was one of the participants.
