UNYPAD, Relief International facilitate simultaneous baseline survey

COTABATO CITY (September 21, 2021) – The United Youth for Peace and Development (UNYPAD) in partnership with Relief lnternational (Rl) facilitated 4-day simultaneous baseline survey regarding the implementation of “Stabilization, Peace Promoting Inclusive Development and Social Cohesion in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), Northern Mindanao and CARAGA Regions in the Philippines.”

The activity was conducted in the selected barangays of Special Geographic Area of BARMM in North Cotabato and Maguindanao Province on September 14, 2021.
Funded by German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO), the program is being implemented by Relief lnternational (Rl) with its local partner, UNYPAD for BARMM areas and Balay Mindanao Foundation Inc. (BMFl) for Northern Mindanao and CARAGA Regions.

The project aims to strengthen peace constituencies, stability and social cohesion through effective state and civil society engagement for inclusive peace-promoting local development and informed community participation in peace processes and good governance in Mindanao.

Among the expected outcomes which are good governance for inclusive and peace promoting local development processes is fostered in the target locations.
Through informed and effective civic engagement, peace constituencies and social cohesion are enhanced in the target locations through effective multi-stakeholder engagement.

The communities from target locations are better informed on the BARMM parlimentary system, and national elections and related electoral processes contributing to violence mitigation in upcoming 2022 national election.

Arven Dela Cruz, Relief lnternational Monitoring Evaluation Learning Officer (MELO) presented the positive impact of the project for BLGUs and Community Organizations.

Morsid Macabangin, UNYPAD Project Officer, explained the focuses of the intervention.

Wahab Namil, Barangay Chairman of Mudseng from Midsayap, extended his gratitude and happiness to the UNYPAD and RI for the inclusion of their place as one of beneficiaries of the project.

The UNYPAD and Relief lnternational (Rl) were satisfied for the positive response of selected beneficiaries from North Cotabato, SGA-BARMM and Maguindanao Province.
