COTABATO CITY (Oct. 17, 2021) – The National Officers of the United Youth for Peace and Development, Inc. (UNYPAD) assembled on October 16, 2021 at UNYPAD National Office, this city to revisit and revise if deemed necessary its organizational policy related to election and to craft a 3-year plan of activities that are aligned to its programs and services.
The assembly, anchored on Islamic principle of Shura (consultation), was spearheaded by the National President, Dr Rahib L. Kudto.
It has been a practice of UNYPAD leadership to consult its members when the organization needs to formulate its policies. Since the election in May 2022 is approaching, the organization has to revisit its policies related to election.
The first policy of UNYPAD related to election was crafted in 2016. In this policy, the UNYPAD has to be a non-partisan organization and shall maintain impartiality at all times.
Due to the changing context such as the establishment of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), UNYPAD has to revisit its policy and revise it if deemed necessary. Thus, the reason why the leadership called on its national officers solely to discuss on the matter.
The officers discussed and exchanged opinions regarding the agenda and ended up with a new policy on election.
A technical working group was immediately organized and tasked to polish the policy for the final version for dissemination to different chapters within the month of October 2021. It will also be published in its website and Facebook page.
The officers also crafted and finalized its 3-year (2022-2025) plan of activities. It included continuous strengthening of organizing activities, conducting Da’wah and education, and undertaking capacity-building and peace initiatives.
UNYPAD is a non-governmental organization composed of Bangsamoro youth from different parts of the Philippines. It is always committed to implement peace and development initiatives.
