UNYPAD Davao Region officers, members renew commitment

MACO PANGI, DAVAO DE ORO (November 9, 2021) — The new and old officers of United Youth for Peace and Development in Davao Region renewed their commitment to the organization during the Davao Region Officers Assembly on Sunday (November 7) in this town.

UNYPAD President Dr Rahib L. Kudto, Vice-President for Internal Affairs Tu Alid Alfonso, Secretary-General Yusoph Lumambas and UNYPAD Legal officer Atty. Badrodin Mangindra graced the event. They were joined by Women’s Affairs Committee National Chairwoman Baisanie Macabuat.

Most of the participants, officers and members of Chapters of Davao City, Davao Oriental and Davao De Oro chapters expressed happiness having seen the UNYPAD president in person for the first time and the high ranking officers of the organization.

In his keynote message, Kudto said that by joining an organization like UNYPAD, a youth will be more useful and effective in spreading the teachings of Islam.
“The holy Qur’an teaches us to enjoin what is good and forbid what is bad,” he said.

He added, “Here at UNYPAD you will not become rich, but if you want to be shaped by the teachings of Islam and understand who you are, what Islam is and what you can do to help the Muslim Ummah, you are here in the right place here at UNYPAD.”

Alfonso led the renewal of commitment and swearing in of old and new officers and members of the organization. He said that this program is under his office.

He also explained the tasks and functions of each officer and urged them to perform their tasks in the service of the Bangsamoro, particularly the youth.

Lumambas explained the structure of UNYPAD and the various committees as well as the programs and services of the organization.

Macabuat also gave a message and she valued the role of women in the operation of UNYPAD, saying that UNYPAD women have autonomy in fulfilling their duties.

Also in attendance were Deputy Secretary-General for Administration Datuan Magon, Deputy Secretary-General for Budget and Allocation Dr. Anwar Saluwang, DMC Director and Secretary of Research and Information Morsidin Husain, Da’wah and Education National Staff Ustadz Samsodin Mamendig, Campaign and Advocacy Secretary Nasrullah M. Abdullah, and WAC National VP for Internal Affairs Saada Sampayan.

The Gathering was led by UNYPAD Davao Regional Coordinator Gabriel C. Palma and Jaliha B. Palma, Acting Secretary of UNYPAD Davao Region who was the Master of Ceremony. Palma said that more than hundreds of participants from Davao Region were able to join in the oath taking ceremony.
