UNYPAD-WAC joins mediation training for faith-based leaders

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (December 20, 2021) – Delegates of the United Youth for Peace and Development-Women’s Affairs Committee (WAC) attended the Training – Workshop on Insider Mediation and Appreciative Inquiry as Instruments for Conflict Settlement for Faith-Based Leaders at Greenleaf Hotel in this town on December 16-17, 2021.

Different Faith-Based Leaders in Mindanao who are actively engaged in Conflict Mediation also participated in the said event.

The aim of the said training-workshop is to equip the participants with knowledge and skills on how to handle conflicts within their areas of responsibility both domestic and perhaps on a wider arena.

On the first day of training, the Clingendael Head of Cotabato Field Office, Winston Alymer Camarinas also joined on the training via Zoom who was currently in Netherlands together with Eugene who was in Nairobi.

The typhoon Odette interrupted the internet signal on the second day and some topics have not been discussed. It was resolved that the training will be postponed on the later date.

The six UNYPAD-WAC representatives were Derhana Maguid Adil and Mary Ann dela Torre from North Cotabato Chapter, Norhana Bayangan and Nodrisa Mangkiang from Maguindanao Chapter, and Matabai Mapandi and Bairida Kalanganan from Sultan Kudarat Provincial Chapter.
