Ansary, MSU-Marawi Chapter Officers take Oath of Office

MARAWI CITY, Lanao Del Sur (December 1, 2014) – Ansary A. Diamaoden was appointed  as the new Vice President for External Affairs (VPEA) of the United Youth for peace and Development, Inc. (UNYPAD) on 25 November 2014.

Ansary and the new officers of the Mindanao State University (MSU) chapter of the UNYPAD were sworn-in on November 25, 2014 at the UNYPAD Northern Mindanao Office in Marawi City.

One of the witnesses disclosed that Ansary, along with MSU newly elected officers, recited oath with the UNYPAD Secretary General, Yusoph S. Lumambas.

The oath taking ceremony was witnessed by 60 officers and members of Lanao del Sur, Lanao del Norte, and MSU Campus chapters.

In a separate interview, Tu Alid Alfonso, UNYPAD Vice President for Internal Affairs, said, “Ansary has been serving as the Provincial Chairman of UNYPAD Ranao Chapter for several years and involved in peacebuilding works here and abroad.”

“He is one of the outstanding senior leaders of the UNYPAD,” he added.

Aside from administering the oath taking, Lumambas presented the amended Vision, Mission, Goals, Objectives and Programs of the UNYPAD.

Lumambas explained that the VPEA is a member of the UNYPAD’s Executive Council that is composed of President, Vice Presidents for Internal and External Affairs, Secretary-General, Deputy Secretary-General for Administration, Deputy Secretary-General for Budget and Allocation, and the national chair of the Women Affairs Committee.

He added that VPEA is responsible to establish school-based chapters in the different Schools, State Colleges and Universities (including Arabic Schools) in the Philippines, establish linkage and network with the international organizations, and deal with locally operating organizations, among others.

Yusoph disclosed that Anwar A. Upahm used to serve as VPEA of the organization since 2004.

 “Upahm is now connected with the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) serving as Executive Director of its youth affairs office,” he said.

“Upahm made a significant contribution in the organization and nobody can forget it,” Yusoph added.

He explained that before the appointment of Ansary, Datuan M. Magon acted as VPEA but he was placed back to his original post in the organization as the Deputy Secretary-General for Administration.

Among the new appointed officers of the UNYPAD Ranao Region are Camilo M. Bangcola, Chairman of   Lanao del Sur Chapter; Amiloden Musa, Provincial Chairman of Lanao del Norte; Daud P. Ibrahim, MSU Marawi Chapter Chairman; and Ms. Sabren D. Ibrahim, MSU Marawi Chapter Chairwoman.  Acmad A. Matao, Jr. was appointed as Regional Coordinator for Northern Mindanao, and Cadapi B. Ador as his Deputy Regional Coordinator.

Bangcola expressed his gratitude to the UNYPAD leadership under the leadership of President Rahib L. Kudto.

“The big challenge for us as new officers is how we could contribute to the advancement of the Bangsamoro struggle for right to self-determination,” Bancola pointed out.

“We are the hope of the Bangsamoro People,” he added.

The UNYPAD Ranao Region was formally established on October 3, 2005.

Meanwhile, The National Committee on Da’wah and Education, chaired by Ustadz Nasrodin Guima reminded the officers and members of the UNYPAD, especially the newly appointed officers that they are all accountable directly to Almighty.

“These positions are entrusted to you and we have a highest expectation that you can discharge the tasks and functions of your offices,” he said.

Tu Alid Alfonso, the Deputy Sec-Gen for Admin Datuan M. Magon, Anwar Z. Saluwang, the Director of UNYPAD Development Management Center (DMC) as well as Ms. Baisanie J. Macabuat, National Chairwoman of Women Affairs Committee welcomed Diamaoden as part of the UNYPAD National Executive Council.
