April 9, 2013: Sittie Saada S. Sampayan was appointed and officially declared as Chairperson of the Women Affairs Committee (WAC) of the Cotabato City Chapter of the United Youth for Peace and Development, Inc. (UNYPAD) last March 28, 2013 at the UNYPAD’s National Office.
Saada, who is currently National Chief of Dawah and Education Committee, was installed as the Chapter’s chairperson in replacement to Aysha Tarhata Moreno, who is now serving the Maguindanao-Cluster 3 Chapter of the UNYPAD.
The WAC is a special committee operates under the Office of the President, which has the autonomy to implement its own activities based from the five major programs of the organization.
The WAC Provincial Chapters are directly supervised by the National Chairwoman.
Sampayan was formerly the Provincial WAC Chairwoman of the North Cotabato Provincial chapter from 2006 to 2008. She was very instrumental in discovering potential young individuals and molding them into competitive and God-fearing leaders. Many of them are now serving as Officers of the province at the different levels.
“Nothing is permanent in this world, and the position we have right now is also not permanent”, Rahib Kudto, National President, said in a meeting.
“One thing that should be understood by the leader is that ‘the position is not a privilege but a social responsibility,’ and he/she has to think always things that he/she can give or share to the organization, not what he/she can get from it,” Kudto added.
“As a new chairperson of Cotabato City, I believe that it is not that easy to be a head but I am happy for the trust and willing to be part of every youth’s collective endeavor for peace and development in the said locality,” Saada said in her acceptance message.
Saada was always onboard in many activities conducted or spearheaded by the UNYPAD like peace rallies, forums, among others.
The said Chapter has always been the host for many UNYPAD activities held in Cotabato City.
The UNYPAD Vice President for Internal Affairs, Tu A. Alfonso, together with the Secretary General, Yusoph Lumambas, and Deputy Secretary General for Budget and Allocation, Anwar Saluwang, gave their reassuring messages of support during the meeting.
Also in the meeting was Engr. Saidona Lawan, Executive Director of KASAMA.
