Students deployed in UNYPAD for internship

COTABATO City (June 27, 2014) – Another batch of Community Development students of the Cotabato City State Polytechnic College (CCSPC) were deployed in the United Youth for Peace and Development (UNYPAD) for internship on June 16, 2014.

“The ffifteen Community Development students from CCSPC have been required to undergo orientation on “all about UNYPAD” for them to have deeper grasp on what UNYPAD has been doing and its operational and administrative policies,” Yusoph Lumambas, UNYPAD Secretary General, disclosed.

He also explained the revised programs and services of the UNYPAD come up in the organization’s 5th National Assembly held at Pikit, North Cotabato two months ago.

“Youth Organizing and Solidarity, Capacity Building, Research and Information Development, Campaign and Advocacy, Rehabilitation and Development, Environment and Natural Resources, and Health and Disaster Management are the organization’s new programs that had been adopted in the assembly,” he enumerated.

Abdulnasser Binasing, UNYPAD Secretary of the Committee on Rehabilitation and Development, gave input about Bangsamoro situation in which history on colonization by foreign powers was the essential part of his lecture.

He said that the situation of Bangsamoro during the martial law declared by President Ferdinand E. Marcos was very lamentable.

He also said that Marcos once told his soldiers that that there should be no one Muslim left in Mindanao, they should all be killed.

Saddam Ariman, one of the interns, explained that they were required by their school to have at least two hundred-hour exposures.

“Making a training design, daily diary, narrative reports and community organizing are among other expected activities we will undertake, he said.
