UNYPAD National Capital Region observes Congress plenary session on BBL

TAGUIG CITY / April 6, 2018 – The key leaders of UNYPAD National Capital Region Chapter have attended and observed the process of plenary deliberation of the Philippine Congress on the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) crafted by the new Bangsamoro Transition Commission (BTC).

The officers of UNYPAD-NCR, headed by Abayazid Kulodan, were present at the Senate’s session hall when the members of the Senate conducted their plenary session on February 28 wherein Senators Migz Zubiri, Sonny Angara and Risa Hontiveros delivered their sponsorship and co-sponsorship speeches on the proposed legislation.

Aside from observing at the senate plenary, the chapter officers also attended the review of the BBL and planning for Interfaith Lobby that included updating what is new with the proposed legislation.

The activity was led by Atty. Anna Tarhata Basman held at Ateneo de Manila, Quezon City on February 27.

Also in February 24, the chapter have participated in the Communication Planning that will support the Bangsamoro Peace Process organized by Gaston Z. Ortigaz Peace Institute (GZO) in partnership with General Peace Youth Network (GenPeace) and the UNYPAD-NCR chapter held at Owlery Work Hub, Quezon City.
