UNYPAD North Cotabato cluster-III holds Orientation and Briefing of elected and appointed officers of Matalam, reactivates M’lang Chapter

MATALAM, North Cotabato (May 30, 2016) – The United Youth for Peace and Development (UNYPAD) North Cotabato Cluster III held orientation and briefing of newly elected and appointed officers of Matalam Municipal Chapter on May 22, 2016 at Ma’had Hidayah Al-Arabie Al-Islamie, Central Malamote, Matalam, North Cotabato.

About 100 participants including three members of Matalam Philippine National Police (PNP) headed by SPO2 Rahib Usman attended the program.

The program gave life to some participants due to motivational and encouraging messages of barangay officials particularly one delivered by Barangay Captain Hon. Amelodin Ganion that centered on the role of the youth in the community.

The program serves as a vehicle of awakening the minds of the youth who someday may become future leaders. Datuan Magon challenged them to be always ready for great responsibilities ahead in serving the Bangsamoro people.

“As you go along the journey for the establishment of the Bangsamoro Region young Moros like you are expected to become future leaders”, Magon said

The major responsibility is how you can effectively handle the interest of the Moro people with some of the young ones are influenced by social problems like drug addiction, etc., Magon further said.

Moreover, the program also gave light to those who are unaware about Islamic perspectives of organization. Ustadz Samerudin Bandilla stressed its importance and cited Qur’anic verse in regards to the significance and benefits of having organizations in communities.

The objective of the program was successfully met with position from executive officers down to its committees were completed. Hashim Kandalayang Usman was elected as the Municipal Chairman, and Mary Ann U. Dela Torre as WAC Chairman.

The North Cotabato Cluster 3 Chairman Guttierez Lumenda together with his two Vice Chairmen, Ahmad Maguid and Alisadri Magunto and other committee officers attended the said activity.

They committed to work double time in reactivating and organizing chapters as they are deem important pre-requisites for the programs of UNYPAD.  “If there is no organized chapter, there are no programs”, Lumenda said.

Lumenda also reported the reactivation of UNYPAD-M’lang Municipal Chapter last May 12, 2016 held at Barangay Dunguan, M’lang, North Cotabato.
