PIKIT, North Cotabato (July 4, 2014) – Six municipal chapters such as Midsayap, Pikit, Carmen, Kabacan, all of North Cotabato, Pagalungan and Datu Montawal, all of Maguindanao province, attended the 1-day planning session conducted by the North Cotabato provincial chapter of the United Youth for Peace and Development (UNYPAD) at the UNYPAD-Sub office in Barangay, Batulawan, Pikit, Cotabato on June 29, 2014.
Provincial chairman Hamsa Landayan disclosed that the planning was focused on Ramadhan programs but, aside from that, they also discussed ways to strengthen capacities of each chapter in preparation for more challenging tasks and obligations to come.
“We decided to conduct more training on Islamic Leadership and Management so that recruited new members in different municipal chapters would be enhanced,” he said.
Kabacan chapter presented its proposed activities and the earliest is the Islamic symposium and peace advocacy in Sitio Bual, Barangay Banawag, Kabakan, Cotabato on July 05, 2014.
Hamsa said that the chapter requested MILF Peace Panel alternate member Datu Antonio Kenoc, UNYPAD Acting Vice President for External Affairs Datuan Magon and Utadz Abdulgafor Mokalam as resource persons.
“It is UNYPAD’s tradition to organize more activities during Ramadhan,” Alima Samera Kaluko, UNYPAD provincial chief of the sub-committee on Da’wah and Education of the Women Affairs Committee of North Cotabato, said.
Yusoph Lumambas, Secretary-General of the UNYPAD, disclosed that his office already received at least thirty-activity request from Maguindanao 1, Maguindanao 2 and North Cotabato provincial chapters respectively.
