UNYPAD Sultan Kudarat Provincial Chapter holds Basic Journalism Seminar-Workshop

ISULAN, SULTAN KUDARAT/December 28 – The United Youth for Peace and Development, Inc. (UNYPAD)– Sultan Kudarat Provincial Chapter held a one-day Basic Journalism Seminar-Workshop at Madrasah Hadjih Abubakar Litilawatil Qur’anil Kareem, Datu Phenry Compound, Kalawag II, Isulan, Sultan Kudarat on December 20, 2017.

Twenty-eight (28) youths from different municipalities of Sultan Kudarat Province participated in the said activity which aims to enhance the journalism skills of the young Moro particularly in news writing, photojournalism and interviewing.
The workshop further aims to develop the participants’ confidence in writing and in communication.

Morsid U. Guiapal, UNYPAD SK Vice-Chairman for Internal Affairs, gave inputs on the Basics of News writing, Photojournalism and Techniques in Handling Interview. He employed lectures accompanied with series of workshops in imparting his knowledge to the participants.

He also explained the significance of journalism in promoting the organization’s advocacies and programs, as well as how journalism skill helps in communication.

Abdulrasid Midzapak, UNYPAD-SK provincial Secretary, encouraged the participants to be “productive Moros” and to help their respective communities.

He also enjoined the young Moros to learn the Bangsamoro history to have better understanding on the Bangsamoro struggle and do their best in their educational endeavors.

Datu Phenry Arab, President of Madrasah H. Abubakar, vowed his support to UNYPAD’s activity and to the future programs and of the organization.

“Anytime you conduct your activities, you are welcome here,” Arab told the organizers.

With the participants actively engaging and sharing their knowledge in every workshop, the organizer’s overall assessment was that the activity was indeed a successful one.

The participants expressed their gratitude to the UNYPAD and how they enjoyed the learning process of the seminar-workshop.

They also conveyed their wish that the same activity will be conducted in their areas sooner.
