UNYPAD-Sultan Kudarat Provincial Chapter holds two-day Islamic  Leadership and Management Training

ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat (January 8, 2016)—The United Youth for Peace and Development, Inc. (UNYPAD) Sultan Kudarat Provincial Chapter in partnership with Mindanaoan Humanitarian and Development Initiatives, Inc.(MinHuDI) held a two-day Islamic Leadership and Management Training to capacitate its officers and members in the province. It was held at Datu Hajji Abubakar Talipasan Madrasah Litilawatil Qur’an Kareem, Purok, Masagana, Kal. II, Isulan, Sultan Kudarat on December 31, 2015 – January 1, 2016.

The training was attended by UNYPAD-Sultan Kudarat Chapter officers and members from different municipalities of the province and also from UNYPAD-Sultan Kudarat State University Chapter.

Yusop Lumambas, Secretary-General of UNYPAD-National focused his presentation on Islamic Leadership on the first day and Management in Islam on second day.

Workshops were undertaken after every session, and each group presented their output afterwards.

Ustadz Nasrudin B. Guiama of Committee on Dawah and Education shared some current issues that Muslims faces today such as the celebration of New Year (Gregorian calendar), Birthdays and etc., where some Muslims living as a minority also join in the celebration.

Guiama answered the participants’ questions on the issue in a brief explanation yet effective and clear.

“Grab this chance, grab the chance that there is a program like this that boost our emman/faith.”

Rahib Talib, Secretary of UNYPAD Sultan Kudarat Chapter, conveyed a message to the participants in behalf of Datu Phenry Arab.

Ustadz Parid Abdulkarim, BOD of the MinHuDI gave words of wisdom and encouraged Bangsamoro youth to study Islamic values and become productive in different ways especially on Islam as he says: “Dapat kayong mga kabataan ay matatawag na kabataang Islam hindi lang kabataan sa secular na edukasyon.”

“Listen to our speakers attentively to learn so we can produce more leaders that will promote Islamic Leadership,” said Zabidi Dading, also a BOD of MinHuDI member.

“A good leader is always a good follower,” he added.

On the other hand, Norodin P. Dimaokom, Chairman of UNYPAD-Sultan Kudarat Provincial Chapter expressed his gratitude to the participants especially the lecturers who came from the National chapter and to Mr. and Mrs. Arab for allowing the group for allowing the organization to use their compound for the activity.

Dimaokom encouraged Bangsamoro youth to participate in similar activity and be part of promoting Bangsamoro ideals.
