COTABATO CITY / April 6, 2018 – The United Youth for Peace and Development (UNYPAD) conducted the Training on Handling and Procedures of Meetings and Minutes Writing on Wednesday to fifteen (15) Bachelor of Science in Community Development (BSCD) interns of UNYPAD from Cotabato City State Polytechnic College (CCSPC).
The activity is part of the series of capacity building program of the organization to produce competent, effective and efficient young leaders.
“The reason why we need to undergo this training because most of us don’t really know the proper way and procedure of conducting a meeting,” said Tu Alid Alfonso who facilitated the training.
He presented the worst and good times of meeting, the functions of facilitator, role of the facilitators, and among other content of handling of meeting.
“When we have not yet undergone this training, everytime we had our meetings we weren’t taking it seriously, its often disorganized,” Saadah Mae, one of the participants, revealed.
“We are really thankful to UNYPAD for conducting this training for us and continuing to mold us, the youth, to be more competitive individuals,” she added.
In line with its mission and vision, UNYPAD is continuously expanding and emplementing their programs and services to capacitate and strengthen more youth.
Amani Moson, the team leader of 15 interns said the organization also provided them training on Skillful Presentation Workshop that was facilitated by the Secretary-General of UNYPAD Yusoph S. Lumambas.
“Some people often think or expect that a training it always starts with lecture, but the training we underwent is indeed peculiar,” she added.
“The Resource Person challenged the participants to have unexpected impromtu speech,” Moson related.
Moso said she learned from Lumambas that “Skillful presentation is part of communication skills which includes how you deliver your speech and that skillful presentation is wider than public speaking.”
The interns also took Program Magement Taining on Febraury 19 also held at UNYPAD Session Hall, Purok Pinnen, Rosales Street, RH-6, Cotabato City. The Women Affair Committee (WAC) National Chairwoman Baisanie J. Macabuat shared her experience and expertise on the said topic.
The participants admitted that in order to be more equipped with knowledge they need additional learning from outside the campus aside from the classrooms.
“The preparation for training, seminar, or any events is not that easy, thus, we really value this learning activity which is is not taught inside the school classrooms,” one of the interns said.
