The Bangsamoro Youth for Peace and Development (BYPD) of BARMM- Pikit Cluster 3 held its first youth assembly at Mahad Rhibhullah, Barangay Balong, last November 7, 2020.
The gathering was participated by the organized chapter of BYPD from eight barangays under the jurisdiction of Pikit Cluster 3. It aimed to uphold the unity, brotherhood, and solidarity among all youth from different backgrounds and who have the same vision for the struggles of the Bangsamoro.
BYPD adviser, Haguiar Gayak, encouraged the youth to be brave and wise enough to face the challenges of time.
“The Youth must equip themselves with patience and positive attitude. All of our leaders today were youth yesterday,” she said.
Provincial Youth Coordinating Body (PYCB) Chairman, Datutie Labas Jr., commended the assembly as positive indication of strong bond between the groups of youth and elders demonstrating unity for the success and progress of Pikit Cluster 3.
Jimmy Y. Adil, the appointed area coordinator of Pikit Cluster 3, reminded the assembly participants about the sacrifices of the elders for the struggle.
“Huwag nating balewalain ang pinaghihirapan ng ating mga nakakatanda (Let us not disregard our elders),” he said.
Adil also underscored the importance of achieving higher education relating the hardships he experienced just to finish his degree.
“Noong elementary ako ay naglalakad lang ako papunta sa eskwelahan. Naranasan ko rin maging working student sa college dahil sa hirap ng buhay (I used to walk going to school during my elementary years. I also experienced being a working student in college due to hardship in life),” he added.
UNYPAD NCC-2 representative Jhoe P. Balabagan enlightened the participants on how the youth continuously increase its number in any level,
“Youth is the largest and biggest sector in the world as well as in BARMM where youth occupies 53 % of its population,” Balabagan shared.
