UNYPAD Maguindanao Cluster III joins BTA extension period advocacy

DATU PAGLAS, MAGUINDANAO (March 4, 2021) The United Youth for Peace and Development (UNYPAD) Maguindanao Cluster III joined other Maguidanao-based youth organizations in their call for the extension period of Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA).
The activity was held on Sunday (February 28) at Datu Paglas National High School, Datu Paglas, Maguindanao.
The event was participated by more the 300 youth from various organizations in this province.
UNYPAD members who participated in the gathering are coming from Datu Paglas, Buluan, Mangudadatu, Pandag, Paglat and General Salipada K. Pendatun all belonging in the province of Maguindanao.
Other youth organization who joined said event were the United Youth Action Group (UYAG), Bangsamoro Communications Network (BCN), Muslim Youth Brotherhood (MYB), Kalilintad Peacebuilding Institute (KPI), Local Youth Development Officer (LYDO) and Maguindanao Youth for Change (MYC).
The gathering was aimed to call the attention of his Excellency President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to support the extension of BTA transition by certifying it as an urgent bill.
Akmad S. Musa, provincial chairman of UNYPAD Maguindanao Cluster III, expressed his strong support to the calling for the extension BTA transition period until the long-lasting peace will come to reality.
“We urge the government to hear the voices of the youth to sustain the peace through extending the BTA transition period because the given three years transition of BARMM government is truly not enough,” Musa underscored.
On the other hand, Rem Academy Secretary Hamana Sinangkad gave updates on the gains of the Government of the Philippines – Moro Islamic Liberation Front peace process. She also tackled briefly the Bangsamoro history.
Local Youth Development Officer (LYDO) Fatma Buisan read the manifesto for the call to BTA period extension followed by the ymbolic signing of different leaders present in the gathering.
President of SK Federation in Datu Paglas extended and showed support to the initiatives of the youth.
Maguindanao Youth for Change President Moctar Edzla emphasized the significance to the calls.
“We the youth, do not want to go back again on the previous years where sounds of fire are heard everywhere,” Moctar said.
“We all want to live in peace because we deserve to have it,” he ended.
