PAGALUNGAN, MAGUINDANAO (March 10, 2021) — The United Youth for Peace and Development witnessed the turn-over of one-storey two classroom building for Datu Alinot Elementary School, Barangay Galakit in this municipality funded by Philam Foundation.

The foundation is a non-profit organization known for its assistance and services to elementary schools affected by and prone to either natural or man-made calamities.
More than fifty (50) teachers from different schools of DepEd Pagalungan District witnessed the event.

The project was aimed at uplifting the condition of the learners by providing a facility conducive for learning.

Badrodin Andog Mamendig, UNYPAD Focal person, expressed his support to the activity.

In his message, he said, “If your plan is one year plant rice. If your plan is for ten years, plant trees. But if your plan is 100 years, then educate people.”

Samir S. Ampatuan, District Supervisor of Pagalungan said, “Rest assured that we will exert great effort to help you achieve your aims. We also believe that great ambition and conquest without contribution is without significance and we will be bearer of that significance.”

Jacky Sangki, Philam Foundation representative, said the community is the first recipient of the pilot project for the whole of Maguindanao province. She conveyed that the project was implemented through RCBC and AY Foundation.

The town mayor, Salik P. Mamasabulod, said, “DepEd is the forehead of community, DepEd is the foundation. If education is quality the output is excellent.”

Datu Alinot Elementary School head teacher Nazra Nor-Banto, together with the non-teaching staff and teachers, expressed their gratitude being the beneficiary of the said project.

“We would like to extend our utmost appreciation to Philam and AY Foundation for this help and generosity,” she said.

The school head added, “We promise to extend our hands as stewards of this facility.”

She further assured that the school administration will take care of the maintenance of the classroom and maximize its utilization.

Also present was the village chief, Barangay Chairman Anwar Matalam, who also thanked the sponsors.

“I am grateful to have this project as home of learners, making a conducive learning facility, and I hope this not and end but just a beginning,” he said.

The barangay chairman hoped that the same project will be implemented in other barangays of Pagalungan.
