UNYPAD’s ‘Kamustahan sa Barangay’ turns emotional

PIKIT, NORTH COTABATO (September 07, 2021) – The United youth for Peace and Development (UNYPAD) North Cotabato Chapter (NCC) II Pikit – Gokotan Chapter’s Kamustahan sa Barangay turned emotional as Datuan “Dats” Magon, Deputy Secretary-General, reminisced the past Jihad citing, “I know in this place many died, orphaned families, and sacrificed their lives in the name of Jihad and to achieve true peace.”
Magon delivered his message and discussed about Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Extension and gave updates on the Government of the Philippines (GPH) – Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) peace process.
The event, held at in Gokotan, Pikit, Cotabato on September 07, 2021, is part of the programs of UNYPAD NCC-II that aims to visit, capacitate and strengthen the relationship of its members in the barangay level.
UNYPAD barangay officers and members and Political Committee of MILF attended the gathering.
One of the participants Abdulnasser Hassan from the Political Committee gave his message of response saying, “My heart is crying as my children and brothers in UNYPAD reminisced the past Jihad. It is indeed an emotional one when we bring back our past experiences in the time of armed struggle.”
He also added, “We are grateful to know that there is an existing organization like UNYPAD and if you select a member of this organization, select the best one or sober youth in our area.”
Ust. Hamsa Landayan, NCC-II Chairman said, “Youth must strive to be an excellent leader, but do not aspire. Our beloved youth, you are our backbone in Jihad.”
In her inspirational message, Nida Makatabang, WAC chairwoman, said, “We, women in UNYPAD, have big part and responsibility in helping our Jihad. No matter what trial is thrown at us, let us not make it negative, instead let us make it a motivation for us.”
