KABACAN, Cotabato Province (Nov 12, 2021) – Members of the Parliament of the Bangsamoro attended the ‘Leaders dialogue in SGA- BARMM’ organized by the United Youth for Peace and Development (UNYPAD) with its partner The Asia Foundation held on Wednesday at 8th Avenue in this town.

MPs Mohager Iqbal, Atty. Lanang Ali Jr, Engr. Aida Silongan, Dr. Susana Anayatin, Melannio Ulama, and the representative of MP Abdullah Hashim and MP Salik or better known as Maestro Seles attended the event.

Also among those in attendance were the head of Ministry of Interior and Local Government (MILG)-Special Geographic Area (SGA) Dr. Zaiton Abas and the area coordinator of Kabacan, Habib Guiabar.

The activity was aimed to have a good rapport with the grassroots communities in SGA-BARMM by delivering to them the right information, ongoing and current program of the newly established government.

According to Dr Rahib L. Kudto, UNYPAD President, “This program will greatly help the community as well as BARMM by directly explaining and answering the questions and doubts of the people and answers will come from people with government responsibilities.”

He also called on the UNYPAD member to be calm, as it is not easy to build a strong foundation of government.

“So we must support and give space to the leaders of BARMM today especially as a result of the long struggle,” he said.

UNYPAD Development Management Center Director Morsidin Husain also explained that UNYPAD is a peace and development advocates’ organization and it has supported the peace talks until now in the transitional government.

He said, “It is not easy to build a government especially during the transition period, so we should support it for the sake of the greater Bangsamoro who have long sought a humane government.”

The project, Communicating the Achievement of the Region to the Grassroots Communities or CARE-BARMM Project, is being implemented by Project Officer Hamsa Landayan who is also the Chairman of UNYPAD North Cotabato Cluster II.
