BULUAN, Maguindanao (July 25, 2014)—The UNYPAD Maguindanao Cluster-3 held orientation and Islamic symposium in the Regional Madrasah Academy, Buluan, Maguindanao on July 19, 2014.
“We were surprised by the number of the participants as it exceeded our expectation; many of them are new recruits,” Rudy S. Lumapinet, Chairman of the UNYPAD Maguindnao Cluster-3, said.
“The objective of the program is to orient the new members and refresh the old ones for their duties and responsibilities in the organization,” he added.
The invocation was delivered by Morsid Talib, Vice Chairman of the UNYPAD.
UNYPAD Maguindanao Cluster-3 Officer Abdulrazak “Jack” Sansawi welcomed the participants and extended his thanks to all attendees.
The program was graced by Dr Benjamin Dumato, President of Rema Academy.
In his message, he encouraged the youth to join the organization that promotes the Islamic brotherhood like the UNYPAD.
“You must pay great attention to education for the youth especially in the field of economics. The Bangsamoro struggle is for you because we’re old already and are passing soon in this world”, he continued.
He enlightened also the participants about the status of the Bangsamoro struggle. He said that the education is the key to success of the Bangsamoro struggle.
“We must always be prepared,” he stressed.
Dr Dumato urged the UNYPAD to partner with the Supreme Student Government (SSG) of the school and invited the organization to contribute an article to the campus news publication.
“This marks the beginning of the real partnership with the student leaders and other Moro youth leaders in Buluan and nearby municipalities”, Lumapinet concluded.
The invited guest speakers are the Secretary General of the UNYPAD national chapter Ustadz Yusoph Lumambas, and Ustadz Suharto Mamengkog, staff of Da’wah and Education Committee.
Ustadz Yusoph stressed that having an organization is very important in advocating for transformation in the society.
“We have created this organization because it is a commandment from Quran to organize a group of people who will advance the advocacy for doing good things and forbidding evil deeds, and it is a response to the oppression done on the Bangsamoro for so long a time,” Lumambas pointed out.
In response to Ustadz Lumambas, Atty. Haviv Maidan, said, “I joined the UNYPAD not to ask for something but to contribute my knowledge to achieve its vision.”
“Let us contribute something to our organization to make it stronger”, he added.
Atty. Maidan is also a Comelec official from Gen. Salipada K. Pendatun, Maguindanao. (UNYPAD News with report from Rudy S. Lumapinet)
