UNYPAD National Capital Region chapter expands its organizing

April 15, 2013: The National Capital Region (NCR) chapter of United Youth for Peace and Development (UNYPAD) has been expanding its community organizing activity in Metro Manila targeting Moro communities. The orientation on the Vision, Mission, Goals, Objectives and Programs and Services of the UNYPAD on Thursday, April 11, held at the Maharlika Village, Taguig City was attended by community leaders, professional, youth from out-of-school and in-of-school.

The Provincial President of NCR Chapter, Kamim Macmod, said that the activity was a preliminary endeavor aimed at establishing chapter in that community.

The participants who attended the event agreed to hold another similar program. It is expected that more community residents especially youth in Maharlika Vilage will participate and become a member of the UNYPAD.

Currently, the NCR Chapter had established chapters in Taguig City, Quezon City, Las Piñas City, Parañaque City, Cavite and Taytay Rizal.

Meanwhile, the UNYPAD Quezon City conducted a “Peace Symposium” at Salam Compound, Culiat, Quezon City on April 7, 2013 in partnership with the Filipino Muslim Women Inc. (FilMus), Muslim Youth Brotherhood (MYB), Baseco Muslim Ummahaat Inc., Noorus Salam-NCR (Light of Peace, Women of Faith), and Community Leaders.

The activity was participated by hundreds of members of the said organizations and other participants from the different Moro communities.
